Monday, December 12, 2011 – Gloria Berbena, Public Affairs Officer, hosted a virtual tour of the “Warhol: Headlines” exhibit, currently at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC.  USINT Chief of Mission John Caulfield introduced the program which began with a screening of the virtual exhibition tour.  Following the video viewing, the curator of the exhibit, Molly Donavan, led an insightful discussion with the Cuban artists and art critics attending the event.

The event was the fourth in the series of virtual presentations of 20th-century American art exhibitions at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, presented in partnership with USINT.  The last virtual tour was held in 2009 and featured an exhibition of Jasper Johns.  The virtual tour of the “Warhol: Headlines” exhibit was possible due to the Terra Foundation which supports American art through acquisitions, exhibition sponsorships, grants and other initiatives.
