Book donation reveals literary talents of former US diplomat in Cuba
On Tuesday, November 30 USINT Chief of Mission Mr. Jonathan Farrar received a donation of a book written by a former U.S. diplomat to Cuba. The book was donated by Reinaldo Cosano Alén, who discovered it on his bookshelves and realized the connection to USINT upon reading the publisher notes.
The book is titled "El mundo de romance y leyenda de Washington Irving", and covers the life and travels of American Washington Irving, 1783-1859. It was written by Francis Donahue, who served as Cultural Attaché under Ambassador Adam Smith at the then-U.S. Embassy in Havana. It was published in 1958.
