Closing date nears for USINT Photography Contest “La Inocencia de la Infancia”

The closing date for USINT`s digital photography contest, La Inocencia de la Infancia, is 31 August, 2010, giving those Cubans wishing to participate just six days to submit their images.  To date, over 50 entries have been received and all can be viewed at USINT´s Facebook site, located at www.facebook.com/havana.usint, under the Contests page.

Cubans wishing to participate in the contest should upload their images to the USINT Facebook site or alternatively send them via email to havanaprensaycultura@gmail.com.  Contestants should remember to include the title of the image together with their name, date of birth and contact telephone and address with their submissions.

The winners of the contest will be selected through a two-step process.  In the first step, USINT`s Facebook community votes for the top ten images in terms of their composition, originality and image quality.  Following the close of public voting on 5 September, a panel of expert judges will select the three Grand Prize Winners.  Grand prize winners will be announced on 13 September and will receive photography equipment and publications.  In addition, the ten finalist images will be included in an exhibition held at USINT commencing 20 September, 2010.
