On Wednesday, 29 September, the US Interests Section (USINT) celebrated the completion by four Cubans of a Communications distance learning course.  During the course students refined their reading and writing skills and practiced the preparation of documents such as a curriculum vitae, meeting notes and formal letters.

The course is offered through USINT by the Mexico-based Centro Virtual Massociedad, an online learning initiative co-founded by the Monterrey Technology Institute, the Business Foundation of Mexico (FUNDAMEX, by its Spanish initials) and Microsoft.  Massociedad offers courses in a number of other areas, including leadership, ethics and transparency, corporate responsibility and conservation.  All courses are offered online and many are free.

In addition to the courses in Communication, USINT offers courses in internet use, English language, journalism, and civil society organizations.
