Friday, January 27, 2012 - Nearly 30 independent journalists from provinces throughout Cuba completed an intensive course in radio reporting on January 26-27.  The two-day course was developed for individuals unable to participate in longer courses offered by the United States Interests Section (USINT).

Content for the course was delivered via DVC (digital video conference) by professors from Florida International University based in Miami, Florida and San Jose, Costa Rica.  USINT also offers a longer Introduction to Journalism course and a Virtual News Room course for independent journalists.  All courses are offered free and are open to the Cuban public.

This was the first time that USINT offered an intensive short course of this nature.  In the future USINT plans to offer similar short courses covering different topics in journalism.
