USINT Chief of Mission John Caulfield Hosts Annual U.S. Independence Day Celebration

July 3, 2012 – USINT Chief of Mission John Caulfield and his wife Nancy Caulfield hosted over 350 guests at the annual U.S. Independence Day celebration held in Havana on July 3, 2012 at the Chief of Mission’s residence. Guests included diplomats, Cuban civil society, cultural figures and members of the foreign press based in Havana. U.S. Marine Corps guards posted colors in a traditional ceremony and the national anthems of both the U.S. and Cuba were sung by visiting representatives of the New Hampshire choral group, Voices of the Heart. Mr. Caulfield offered warm words of welcome and ended the formal program with a toast to the friendship of the people of Cuba and the United States.
