USINT Marine Guard Awarded University Scholarship for Outstanding Essay

One of the Marines currently attached to the U.S. Interests Section, Sergeant Michael Kuy, has won a $1500 university scholarship under the VA Mortgage Center.com Military Education Scholarship Program.  Sergeant Kuy won the scholarship following the submission of an essay describing how his military experiences have prepared him for his career.

Sergeant Kuy arrived in Havana following tours in Iraq, Sarajevo and Madrid.  Upon learning of his award, he paid tribute to his parents who, from an early age, instilled in him the importance of a college education.  He plans to apply to several colleges in the U.S. and begin his studies after he leaves Havana.
