Lincoln Information Resource Center Reopens

On Monday, February 2, 2010, following seven weeks of renovations, the U.S. Interests Section (USINT) announced the reopening of the Lincoln Information Resource Center.  The new center offers its users a vastly improved space in which to conduct reading and research activities, including new flooring, seating and equipment.  The center is a professional and tranquil environment for study and work, and provides information on American life and culture as well as an extensive lending library.

Information Resources Centers (IRCs) at U.S. Missions around the world provide information on U.S. policy issues, legislation, business and trade issues, and U.S. political and social processes.  IRCs are found in the Public Affairs sections at 176 embassies and consulates worldwide, where they provide research and outreach services to foreign contacts and embassy officials.  The two IRCs at USINT in Havana support over 370 users and offer over 1800 hours of free, uncensored interent access on a monthly basis.

The newly renovated Lincoln IRC is open to the public Mondays through Thursdays from 9:00 am, to 4:00 pm, and on Fridays from 8:30 am to 12:00 m.
