Early Thanksgiving Celebration at USINT

On November 16, 2009 the U.S. Interests Section enjoyed a traditional Thanksgiving lunch prepared by American employees and their family members. . A line of volunteers cheerfully served the traditional Thanksgiving meal, consisting of roast turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes or candied sweet potatoes, green beans and a generous topping of gravy.
The Thanksgiving Holiday is one of the biggest in the U.S.A. and is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November, which in 2010 falls on November 25. Americans typically share Thanksgiving dinner with family and friends. The tradition is believed to date from 1621, when early American settlers in Plymouth, Massachusetts shared their first harvest with Native Americans.
USINT is closed on Thursday, November 25, 2010 in honor of the Thanksgiving holiday.
