Ceremony for UTEP course completion

On November 16, 2010, PAS hosted the UTEP completion ceremony of the distance learning course offered by the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) "Introducción al aprendizaje y estudio en línea" at the USINT Benjamin Franklin Distance Learning Center.  Twelve Cuban students completed the five week introductory course. 

Students acquired the basic skills to use and navigate the Internet and the basic skills for academic writing and were challenged to work using the critical thinking skills.  This preparatory non-credit course is compulsory for future UTEP courses.  During the web based post-course discussion session, UTEP teachers and students expressed their impressions of the course and had an open debate on areas for improvement and lessons learned.
